Living Word Youth

LWY meets each Wednesday to study God's Word, to pray and to encourage one another in the faith. Living Word Youth is for youth grades 7-12. Group members serve, work on projects and enjoy fun outings throughout the year.

Living Word Youth meet at Mario and Lisa Dominguez' house each Wednesday night at 6:15 p.m. unless a special event is planned elsewhere.

Reminder: New Nursing Home Assignments

For the LWY, going to the nursing homes is an integral part of our ministry and God is causing us to grow. Praise the Lord! Due to this growth and a transition in youth leaders, we will both be expanding and have some switching in nursing home assignments for the youth. We assign youth by location in an effort to keep gas costs low and to minister in the local community. These changes will take place for our next nursing home night on Wednesday August 6, 2008. If you have questions as to which nursing home you are assigned to, please contact Hunter Turner at 419-329-1100.

Sr. High: Open Topic Night this Wed.

This week the Sr. High will have their Open Topic Night. So, feel free to think of a couple of topics you would like to discuss. Then write them down, think about how God's Word addresses your questions, bring them, and then ask them.

To be honest, we probably will not be able to addresse all the questions, but save those that did not get answered for our next Open Topic Night!

See you there!

Friday, July 25 till Sunday, July 27, the College/Sr. High will head north to Michigan's Upper Peninsula for a great weekend outdoors where we will go camping, hiking, swimming, exploring, fishing, eating pasties and stew, take a boat cruise of the Pictured Rocks, and more. Our weekend will finish with our worshiping God together, which will be lead by some of the young men who will be joining us for the great northern adventure.

If you are interested in going or would like more info please contact Scott Killy or Ryan Brown.

Farewell Priestaps: Silly Marky Mark

Mr. and Mrs. Priestap will be leaving us soon. This saddens me, but causes me to recollect some fun times with them both. With Mark being the sillier of the two, I naturally have quite a plethora of goofy photos of him. Here's one:

He was known by some as one who played baseball with Ohio State. That was a myth, as he only attended the school. His shirt in this photo is another myth.

One day, when he had nunchucks in his back pocket, I ran towards him with arms flailing to tackle him. Quicker than you can say "I have no nunchuck skills", Mark whipped them out of his pocket, paused bewildered, and then just threw them at me. I concluded that he really had no idea how to use them.

Please email me memories, photos, stories, and/or fond recollections of the Priestaps over the years, and we'll post them here!
